15 YEAR OLD CLAIMS DETENTION
VIOLATED HER RIGHTS
Thursday, January 7, 2003
The great day of the Lord is near
That day is a day
of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and
desolation, a day of darkness
a day of clouds and thick darkness,
a day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against
the high towers. Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the
oppressing city! She obeyed not the voice; she received not the
correction; she trusted not in the Lord; she drew not near to her
God.
Zephaniah 1:14-16; 3:1-2
And it came about that all who saw it said, Nothing
like this has ever happened or been seen
consider it, take
up counsel and speak up!
In those days
everyone did what
was right in his own eyes.
Judges 19:30; 21:25
Dear Friends of Family Concerns,
In agony we grieve over the September 11 tragedy, while at the same
time our nation continues to flounder in spiritual and moral decay.
We desperately need a spiritual revolution in America to regain
our godly footings. Not a revival for peaceful co-existence with
all other faiths, that is impossible because most often their god
is not the same God, (read the Koran for example; Muslims will never
co-exist with Christians because they will never recognize the deity
of Christ) but a spiritual revolution that recognizes and exalts
our Creator, our Sacrificial Lamb, our Sovereign Lord Jesus Christ,
who is the only way to God the Father and to eternal life.
After warnings that as many as 200 terrorists were slipping
into this country and planning a major assault on the United States1
Muslim terrorists flew three hijacked commercial airplanes into
the World Trade Center towers and the Pentagon. Suddenly, amid death
and chaos, America was at war!
President Bush told the American people:
you will be
asked for your strength, because the course to victory may be long.2
And even though information had been coming in as to a possible
attack, Vice President Cheney conceded on Meet the Press that the
unspeakable air attack had caught the government by surprise.
While America reeled from the despicable act of terror, blamed among
other reasons on our alliance with Israel, which we must protect
at all costs, China celebrated as President Jiang Zemin watched
and re-watched the pictures of the aircraft crashing into the World
Trade Center.3 God has now sent us a greater warning!
Recently, I was given the following information:
America is the largest un-churched English speaking
population in the world. America is the fifth largest un-churched
population on the planet (behind China, the former Soviet Union,
India and Brazil. America leads the World in single-parent families,
abortion rate, sexually transmitted diseases, teen-age birth rate,
use of illegal drugs by students and prison population.
Before we get out of bed tomorrow morning:
- 3,246 women will have an abortion
- 3,445 unmarried women will give birth to
a child
- 84 people will commit suicide
- 45 people will die of AIDS
- 43 people will die from alcohol-related auto
accidents
- 1,312 students will drop out of high school
- 6,000 people under the age of 18 will try
their first cigarette
- 28,206 people will be arrested
- 4,272 of them from drug abuse violations
- 3,396 will declare bankruptcy
- 63,288 will receive food stamps
- 411 will convert to Islam
- 872 will become Mormons
- 9 churches will close their doors
- 3 churches will start; and several thousand
people will die without knowing
Jesus Christ and will spend eternity separated from
Him.4
The above has developed and increased since Christian principles
were removed from American life. Never forget:
- In 1962 the U.S. Supreme Court prohibited
prayer in public schools
- In 1963 the U.S. Supreme Court banned Bible
teaching in public schools
- In 1980 the U.S. Supreme Court ordered public
schools to remove the Ten Commandments
Now since 1962 child abuse is up 2,300%, teen suicide
is up 450%, illegal drugs are up 6,000%, Divorce is up 350%, and
births to unmarried girls are up 500%.5
America was founded on Christian principles and it is in maintaining
our Christian faith and our strong belief in God that freedom is
secured.
Please join Family Concerns in our continued efforts in the coming
year to:
1. Protect the Constitution
2. Expose the United Nations for what it really is
3. Help get America out of the United Nations
4. Defeat Abortion and the use of human embryos in research
5. Ban human cloning
6. Continue our stand against the homosexual movement in America
7. Strengthen families by every means possible
8. Come to the rescue of abused and neglected children
9. Provide Christian education and increase patriotism so Christians
can better stand in the gap!
Family Concerns needs your help financially. More now than
ever we must stand and speak up for families and children. Without
supporters of Family Concerns, we could not continue to do the work
God has called us to do.
This has been a trying year for Family Concerns, but I want to thank
you for your faithfulness. We are good stewards of every dollar
and we thank God for your enduring friendship.
From my heart,
Nancy Schaefer
-P.S. Please prayerfully be as generous as you can be.
