WHAT DOES AMERICA NEED THIS CHRISTMAS SEASON

What does America need for Christmas? Have you ever really, thought about it? If you could make one suggestion, what would it be? You might say a spiritual revival is needed and everyone would have to agree with you. You might say the return of Christ and we know that will be a glorious day and it is coming, maybe soon, and truly America needs it.

But what is something practical that America needs this Christmas to be a forerunner to revival? I believe something must happen in America that teaches each and every person that God does exist! There is a world of people in America that do not know who God is. They are not sure He even exists. So they search here and there looking for the truth.

When my children were young I kept them in youth choir as long as possible. Why? Because that’s where they memorized the words to hymns and Christian songs. One song they sang that always brought tears to my eyes was “People need the Lord,” People do need the Lord, but many are searching in all the wrong places hoping to discover the meaning to life and what will happen after they die. They need the Lord and most of all they need to know He exists.

This is what striking down the Ten Commandments in America has done. When the U.S. Supreme Court in 1947 issued a ruling on Everson v. Board of Education
that there was a constitutionally mandated separation between church and state, the U.S. Supreme Court was in essence telling the American people that God no longer existed.

Why did the Lord give Moses the Ten Commandments?
1. Thou shalt not have any other Gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord in vain.
3. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.
4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
5. Honor thy father and thy mother.
6. Thou shalt not kill.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness.
10. Thou shalt not covet.

God gave the Ten Commandments to Moses to form a more perfect union, to establish justice, to insure domestic tranquility, to provide for the common defense, to promote the general welfare, and to secure the blessings of liberty to Moses and to his posterity.

This is the awesome balance between the Ten Commandments and the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution. By removing the Ten Commandments, the U.S. Supreme Court has refused to recognize the Source of our system
of justice.

This is why cults and new age practices have increased. That’s why crime, violence, immorality, dishonesty, child abuse, divorce and abortion are taking our nation by storm.

America needs to know the truth. That God does exist, and that Jesus Christ is the only solution to the problems and troubles in this world.
