SAME SEX MARRIAGE-WHAT IS NEXT
Monday , December 08, 2003
The decision of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court that ruled
Wednesday, November 19, that the ban on homosexual marriage violates
the state constitution, sent shock waves across the land. Is there
any question that the Humanist Manifestos is being fulfilled in
America by liberal courts? The 4-3 ruling declares that homosexual
couples have a constitutional right to marry. How can they declare
this when there is nothing in the constitution that gives the judiciary
this power?
These are militant jurists and if we want to protect marriage as
a union between one man and one woman we must be willing to actively
get involved. Liberal judges know the majority of Americans are
against same sex marriage but they have an agenda.
Our nation has lost its way. We should be telling homosexuals their
behavior is wrong and show them the way to freedom – but we
have churches that in many cases endorse homosexuality.
We are told by reports today that many of our youths are becoming
AIDs infected and that AIDs is rapidly increasing in the homosexual,
bisexual, and drug communities.
AIDs is preventable. Abstinence, when not in a married relationship
is the answer. Think of the billions of dollars spent on AIDs today.
It is up to the church and followers of Jesus Christ to tell homosexuals
the truth, not give them some false sense of security that can lead
to death. We tell smokers today to give up smoking.
Marriage was ordained by God. It perpetuates the human race. It
is health and security for children. Homosexuality was condemned
in the Old Testament and in the New Testament. (Leviticus and Romans)
Senator Rich Santorum was in a firestorm with the media because
he said, overturning the anti-sodomy ruling would lead to the “right”
to bigamy, polygamy, and incest. He was right. These behaviors are
dysfunctional and already someone has stepped forward demanding
the right to polygamy. What is next? Marriage between a father and
a daughter? Or worse – a father and a son!
In an effort to stop the legitimizing of homosexual marriage by
either the Massachusetts commonwealth or the U.S. Supreme Court,
the Federal Marriage Amendment has been placed on the front burner.
The Federal Marriage Amendment (FMA) has 100 co-sponsors. Hopefully
it will be brought up in January of 2004. Also, the Republican Governor’s
Association has endorsed FMA.
At the end of the day we all know that preserving traditional marriage
is the right
thing to do, morally and politically. Please let your elected representatives
know that they must preserve the traditional definition of marriage.
Their decision can bring blessings or curses.
