STAND WITH JUDGE ROY MOORE
Wednesday, September 12, 2003

Chief Justice Roy Moore of Alabama spent the past weekend in Georgia.
He attended Promise Keepers, a couple of wonderful churches and a Family Concerns dinner on Saturday night and delivered an incredible messages everywhere!

It was indeed a privilege to hear the Chief Justice of Alabama share why he is standing for the Ten Commandments in Alabama. He is on the side of truth and he and his family need your prayers.

Judge Moore makes it very clear that the battle was not about the Ten Commandments, the monument or even about politics. He said the battle is not about religion, a term defined by our Founders as “the duty we owe to our Creator and the manner for discharging it. The battle is over the acknowledging of God in our culture.

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are rights given by God and they are secured under the Constitution of the United States.

Every citizen should be knowledgeable of the Constitution and certainly every official of state and federal government should be very familiar with Constitutional provisions. All public officials are sworn by oath or affirmation to support the U.S. Constitution. Every student in school and every law student should be required to understand the Constitution and recite the Preamble as part of their program of study. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
Hosea 4: 6

The Ten Commandments issue has brought division in the evangelical community.
However, David Lowenthal, a First Amendment scholar who formerly taught political science at Boston College, says Christians who are unsympathetic to Chief Justice Moore do not understand constitutional law.

And according to the Preamble of the Alabama Constitution, which Judge Moore was elected to uphold, in order to establish justice “favor and guidance of Almighty God must be invoked.”

I will never be willing to sit quietly on the sidelines while my rights and the rights of my children and grandchildren to acknowledge God are taken away. Listen to what Patrick Henry said: ”Shall we gather in strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?” I say no, a thousand times no.

The secularists and the atheists have paved the way for judicial tyranny. Morality is translated into a religion which is not tolerated by liberals. The battle here at home is as critical as winning the war in Iraq. If we lose, we will be subject to
the barbarians at our gate.

May I encourage you to support Judge Roy Moore in this courageous stand for God to be once again acknowledged in our land. He believes the Ten Commandments are true and are worthy to be believed. It’s judicial tyranny in this country that we must fight and win! Is there not a cause?
You bet there is!
