TAKING DOWN THE TEN COMMANDMENTS IS REMOVING RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
Monday, June 23, 2003

On June 9, in West Union, Ohio, several dozen people knelt in prayer while workers, who had been ordered, removed giant Ten Commandment tablets
from school buildings.

Ten people were arrested from the group protesting a federal judge’s order to remove the Ten Commandments from four schools in a district 60 miles east of Cincinnati.

Actually, the protesters began by blocking a crane from taking the 800-pound granite tablets from three of the schools. However, by evening, all four tablets had been removed.

One of the protesters, Dave Dauben-mire told the Cincinnati Post, “we have to make the decision in America if there’s going to be local control of what we’re going to teach our children.”

One of the school’s football coaches asked, “Is it going to be the people here in the community or some judge in a courtroom in Washington?”

The school district is challenging the ruling by U.S. Magistrate Timothy Hogan that the displays violate the First Amendment’s clause forbidding the establishment of religion. You might know it was the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) that filed the suit on behalf of a resident who objected to the display.

Rev. Phil Fulton, of Union Hill Church in Adams County, told the Cincinnati Enquire he would remain defiant despite the federal court order.

“I am willing to do whatever it takes– to be arrested or whatever. There is no constitutional back ground to taking
these commandments.”

“This is our religious right. This is our freedom-of-speech right”, continued
the pastor.

Amen pastor, I’m with you – and if we had about 10,000 more pastors like this one we would not have the Ten Commandments being removed right in front of our eyes.

In my own county, Habersham County, Georgia,we are fighting a liberal pastor and the very radical ACLU, in order to keep the Ten Commandments up in public buildings. I don’t use the word communist much anymore – because liberalism has taken its place, but they are one in the same. And for America to be destroyed so liberalism and socialism can take over, the traditional family and Western Christianity must be rendered no longer effective.

I beg of you folks, pray for America, and stand your ground at all cost. Our future, our faith, and our families are at stake.
