HIDING THE TEN COMMANDMENTS - WE ARE WHITE WASHING SIN
Friday, March 19, 2004
How long will God withhold His judgment from America? Daily we
become more and more like the book of Judges: like a people and
a nation that has forgotten God. Judges 21:25 tells us in those
days, everyman “did that which was right in his own eyes.”
That is a picture of what is taking place in the U.S. Just recently,
a copy of the Ten Commandments hanging in a North Carolina courtroom
has been covered after the attorneys for an admitted killer on trial
claimed the sixth Commandment; “thou shalt not kill”
might sway jurors against their client. Is this not incredible?
That’s why we need people to have copies of the Ten Commandments
before them. If they were seen daily and once again taught in our
schools, maybe we would not have so many murders and maybe we would
end abortion in America.
God’s Word tells us that we are to rescue those that are
unjustly sentenced to death or misery. How can we look the other
way and let babies in the womb die and ignore children adopted into
homosexual relationships.
We can’t disclaim responsibility by saying we didn’t
know about it, we do know about it and God knows our heart and he
will award according to our deeds.
We have known that prayer was removed from our children’s
schools. We have known that Bible reading, prayer before football
games, the Ten Commandments, “Under God” in the Pledge
have all been replaced in public schools – with sex education,
social relativism, multiculturalism and the big lie that the United
Nations and the “New World Order” are our last hope
for peace.
The righteous are not in authority. We have abandoned our civil
duty. Proverbs 29:2 says: “When the righteous are in authority,
the people rejoice, but when the wicked beareth rule, the people
mourn.”
If the righteous were in authority the Ten Commandment would not
be covered in North Carolina so jurors could not see them.
John McArthur of Grace Community Church in California once said,
“There is no surer token of a society under God’s wrath
than when it does not tolerate anger against sin.”
Is that where we are? Are we just white washing sin? I shutter
to think.
