JOHN KERRY SUPPORTS SAME-SEX MARRIAGE
Monday, March 15, 2004

There are many issues of which I strongly disagree with Democrat Presidential Candidate John Kerry, and I will take up those issues in a later commentary but I do want to share with you now of Kerry’s support for same-sex marriage.

He has gone so far as to tell homosexual activists that the federal government should recognize “same-sex marriages” and civil unions that are legalized on the state level.

His position means that the federal government would grant the same 1,000 plus benefits enjoyed by married couples nationwide to same-sex couples, provided that the couples live in a state that allows for same-sex marriages and civil unions.

Kerry made the pledge at a homosexual fundraiser in San Francisco in February. The federal benefits he is referring to are like: “The right to file joint income taxes and the right to collect survivor benefits.”

This is the first time in history that a presidential candidate has ever supported full and equal protection for same-sex couples. According to California State Representative Mark Leno, who introduced the same-sex bill in California, Kerry would grant all 1049 federal rights to same-sex couples in whatever legal union their states recognize.”

President Bush backs a constitutional marriage amendment, saying it is probably the only way to stop nationalized “same-sex marriage”.

Bush said: “The Amendment process has addressed many serious matters of national concern and the preservation of marriage rises to this level of national importance.”

It appears same-sex marriage is shaping up to be the number one issue in the cultural campaign war of 2004.

Contact the President. Let him know you appreciate his position on marriage between one man and one woman. But let him know we all need for him to continue to speak to the issue; not just once.

Senator John Kerry is speaking sin and reproach over our land. Pray his eyes would be open to the truth.

“Righteousness exalts a nation; but sin is a reproach to any people.”
