REPRESENTATIVE JEANETTE JAMIESON'S FALSE MARRIAGE BILL
Tuesday, March 09, 2004

Georgia State Representative Jeanette Jamieson (D) – Toccoa, GA, a conservative rural area, voted against the Constitutional Amendment to ban same-sex marriage in Georgia, denying the bill the two-thirds majority needed to place it on the November ballot. The Resolution needed 120
votes to pass, and received 117.

According to Georgia Senator Mike Crotts (R) – Conyers, GA and author of the Constitutional Ban On Same-Sex Marriage, “Jamieson’s bill is nothing more than a ‘Judas goat’ by those in the House who apparently want to leave the door open for same-sex marriage in Georgia.”

Jamieson’s new proposal, House Resolution 1470 would conveniently leave out a major provision of the Republican Bill, SR 595. The provision, “section B,” that Jeanette Jamieson wants to delete stipulates that Georgia cannot recognize same-sex marriage’s performed in other states and stipulates that no gay marriage “shall be recognized by this state and entitled to the benefits of marriage.”

Republicans now have the 120 votes to pass the resolution, but House Democrat leaders say they will not let it out of committee until after the 33rd day of
the 40 day session.

Jamieson’s resolution will be pushed to the House floor this week – but the Republican coalition is convinced that Section B must be included.

Jamieson is good at pulling these tricks. Just a few years ago – several school districts were asking for an elective Bible course to be taught. Kids in some areas
had already signed up for a Bible course.

The State School Board under Governor Roy Barnes would not agree to a course,
so a wonderful bill was introduced in the House that was perfect, simple, and offered a course that was being used in 21 other states with no problems.

Jeanette Jamieson’s intention was to stop the Bible Bill from being passed so
she introduced a false Bible bill that not only censored out creation, the virgin birth, the crucifixion, and the resurrection, but condemned the King James Version of the Bible should any student want to use it.

Now she has done the same thing to the Marriage Amendment. She had the support of House Speaker ProTem Dubose Porter (D) Dublin, GA on her false Bible Bill, and she has his support on her false Marriage Amendment.
