I hope you saw the wonderful front page pro-family ad running in newspapers last weekend thanking the President for taking positive action to pass a Constitutional Amendment to preserve marriage as an institution to uphold the union of one man and one woman. It is going to take much work in Washington and in the states to stop this radical attempt to redefine marriage in America. The world is watching what the U.S. will do and the world will be influenced by our decision. Please call on President Bush to continue to speak out on the importance of marriage between one man and one woman. Vice President Dick Cheney said yesterday that he supports President Bush’s announcement calling for a federal Constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages even though one of his daughters is a lesbian. “The President has taken the clear position that he supports a Constitutional amendment,” Cheney said, on MSNBC and “I support him.” I am grateful the Vice President could make this statement. The paper’s editorial board approved the position by a 5-2 vote totally disrespectful of the student body, campus policy, or the community at large. It grieves my heart that we have allowed our youth to reach this low moral level.
