SAME SEX MARRIAGE THE HARVEST OF COMPLACENCY
Thursday, February 26, 2004

I have fought the growth of homosexuality in America since the founding of Family Concerns by God in 1986. I stood in the gap to defeat the homosexual ordinance in Atlanta, which was later passed. Family Concerns stood against a homosexual parade that was held at the Atlanta Capitol when homosexuals placed a brass bed on the Capitol lawn with two life size figures performing homosexual acts on the bed while others lay in the street around the Capitol involved in simulated homosexual acts. As a member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta, my position and Family Concerns’ stand caused the homosexual community to surround the church more than once and to throw condoms over guests at a Family Concerns conference.

My face donned the cover of the homosexual newspaper and was placed on homosexual T-shirts as the #1 enemy. I was threatened and received unspeakable phone calls.

Often I issued urgent alarms to the pastors of churches in Georgia only to hear from maybe two or three at the most.

We as a people have allowed this current crisis to happen across our nation. As public schools began to promote homosexuality as an alternative behavior, legislators and state and national leaders allowed it to continue. No fault divorce was granted so homes fell apart and children were more vulnerable. Oral sex was promoted to children as not “really being sex” (give me a break), and textbooks, T.V., films, videos, magazines all pushed in your face homosexuality.

The church could have stopped abortion, which encouraged promiscuity, if it had
been willing to get it’s hands dirty and the church could have stopped the onset homosexuality. The church did not want to be involved. The church would not even go to the polls and vote and would not really help Christian candidates for fear of offending someone.

Now we have a godly judge like Roy Moore lose his position because he stood for the truth of the U.S. Constitution and for God to be acknowledged in government and we are today looking at anarchy breaking out across our land – as San Francisco issues 3,000 same sex marriage licenses inspiring other cities to do the same.

Meanwhile, Massachusetts’ lawmakers rejected an amendment to the state Constitution that would have defined marriage as strictly a union between a man and a woman. The highest Massachusetts’ court last year shot down a ban on gay marriage as unconstitutional and gave the state’s lawmakers until May to fix the problem.

We are reaping the harvest of complacency and disobedience to God’s Word.

May God have mercy on us.
