CREATION VS. EVOLUTION 2004

The Georgia State School Superintendent. Kathy Cox recently proposed a biology curriculum that would teach other scientific theories abut evolution, and specifically mention “intelligent design.” The flap concerning this proposal has been discussed nationwide.

The Governor of Georgia, Sonny Perdue, said he wants a “balanced” classroom approach to the teaching of evolution with an emphasis on its standing as “academic theory” not fact.

However, unending letters and articles have been written claiming that those who dispute evolution reveal their ignorance of science.

Ms. Cox had no intention of removing “evolution.” She was planning to replace the word “evolution” with the words “biological changes over time.” Her thoughts were that by leaving the word out a controversy could be avoided.

I’m sure what Ms. Cox wanted to avoid was the teaching in the classroom that evolution is a proven fact. Teachers do this to their impressionable students and then ridicule the students who believe God had anything to do with creation. Intelligent design stresses that living things are too complex and diverse to have evolved through random mutation – but from a higher intelligence.

It is no exaggeration to say that as a direct result of the teaching of evolution thousands of young men and women have lost their faith in God and in His Word. As a consequence they have turned from the light to darkness. Many who teach the Darwinian theory of evolution would repudiate a logical out come like atheism if they truly understood what they embraced. For anyone, including the school Superintendent Kathy Cox, just slightly rejecting the doctrine of evolution will find himself persecuted because of his views.

The theory of evolution having to do with the origin of life and the origin of the species is accepted by the atheistic and secular humanist community.

Evolution is the very cornerstone of atheism. Denying the truth of creation
is parallel to satan denying the truth of God’s Word to Adam and Eve. Evolution
is a deliberate and willful denial of God’s Word and the exaltation of man in the
form of humanism and atheism.
