THE CONSTITUTIONAL RESTORATION ACT
Tuesday, February 17, 2004

I had the privilege last Friday to attend a Conference and press gathering in Alabama held by Chief Justice Roy Moore and his support organization, The Foundation for Moral Law. This conference was history repeating itself because for those attending the conference, it was a new commitment to the Declaration of Independence.

There were two main reasons for holding the conference. One reason was because our liberties and our Constitution are being threatened. The other reason for holding the Conference and press gathering was to introduce the Constitution Restoration Act, legislation that will restore the fundamental precepts upon which the Constitution and government are based.

Congressman Robert Aderholt has introduced “The Constitution Restoration Act” (H.R. 3799) in the House and Senator Richard Shelby has introduced identical legislation in the United States Senate. When announcing the Bill, Congressman Aderholdt stated the legislation would require the federal courts to operate within the jurisdiction given to them by the U.S. Constitution as it pertains to the public acknowledgement of God as the sovereign source of law, liberty, and government.  Congressman Aderholt declared: “Federal courts prohibiting the acknowledgement of God is a denial of the very source of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness which our founding fathers specifically recognized in the Declaration of Independence. Our founding fathers acknowledged this as an unalienable right given by God. Prohibiting public officials from recognizing God violates the Constitution’s First and Tenth Amendments.”

Continuing he said: “Today you will find the recognition of God by state
and federal authority in oaths, mottos, documents, prayers, and monuments,
and it is the duty of the Congress, under Article III to regulate the appellate jurisdiction of the U.S. Supreme Court and other federal courts…the Constitutional Restoration Act would preserve and restore the acknowledgement of God to our law and government.

“Therefore, whether it is a public display of the Ten Commandments, the Pledge of Allegiance in the classroom, or a nativity scene at Christmas, all would be protected since it is, in essence, the acknowledgement of God.

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”
Exodus 20:3
